Charter for "Small Format Art *SFA*"
This group was formed October 6th 2005. Its purpose is to promote the unique qualities of small format art - art no longer than 14" in any one direction.
I see it as a very collectible form of art, and love seeing it displayed on walls, (not to match furniture or drapes or just to fill a space) but to enjoy the artist's creation. Small art always invites a closer look, and can be a conversation piece. It covers 2D as well as 3D works, and all mediums.
This group uses "SFA" in our titles to help searchers specifically look for this sizing. It includes, but is not limited to ACEOs (2.5x3.5"), miniature art, dollhouse scale art, post card and OSWOA TM (4x6") and others.
A website has been created for its promotion, also there is a blog, if you wish to participate and promote this sizing.
This group tries to be very fair in its dealings with artists and events. And although I run events I don't conduct contests, as I believe we don't need to be singled out as artists. It is our buyers that dictate the popularity of our work - and this can range considerably. Though, to make life interesting, you can join in on the SFA themes, and the 'pick-me' threads, that select members at random, to feature 2 times a month. It also serves to challenge and inspire, without constraints. Most important of all, it serves to promote SFA.
You're welcome to post your SFA & non-SFA art listings. And join in on conversations re art and interaction with eBay.
eBay group rules do NOT allow for non-eBay links to be kept in signatures of users. But you can submit links to your WEBSITE, or BLOG under the link area (eBay does allow this). Please be courteous with regard to your signature as many have physical limitations where animation/blinking causes problems.
Should you wish to promote a personal agenda, event or group please be courteous enough to ask the leader first. This also applies with signatures. This will stop any misunderstandings and hard feelings, but please understand that I do reserve the right to refuse, based on my belief in making this a fair and even forum for all small format artists.
Thank you.
I hope you enjoy this group.
I wrote this on 7th June 2008, and hope to promote SFA more in the future. If you have ideas, or wish to help, please let me know. Please feel free to add WIP (work in progress) and other informative art/eBay and artist lifestyle conversations.
