Seems it would be beneficial for us to discuss the various established groups out there so others can be more informed.

I joined EAC a few months ago and started getting the catalogs for dan holmes sales & ted naftgzer and that led to learning of all the sheldons and newcombs. Next thing you know I am sending a coin to Bob Grellman for attribution and now I have made my own spreadsheets with all 302+53 early dates and shortly will have the middle and late dates all in just a few pages with rarity and auction results! All that from just one group.

Does anyone know of any other well-known specialist groups?

I would imagine that Larry Briggs would be part of or president of some sort of liberty seated series and I keep neglecting to ask him.

VAMworld should have a group.

CONECA with Ken Potter and that group have the general errors covered.

I'm still only 18 months into numismatics so any information will be appreciated.

Greetings...

If you wish more on other groups (ie: Indian Head Cents - Rick Snow) best place to start is check the links at other clubs sites. (ie: CONECAonline.org)

Good hunting.... :)

If anyone has information regarding web sites that fall under this category, please email them to me either through the e-bay email or the NDRB email and I will set up links on both the e-bay groups site and the NDRB web site.

The NDRB site has links to CONECA, NCADD (Natl collectors Association of Double Dies and Variety Vista (CONECA’s new electronic edition of The Split Image and The RPM Report)

Thanks

Ron

Most people that are a member of EAC join C4. Colonial Coin Collector's Club. Try it. A very educational group of collectors.

.

Thank you for letting me know about C4. I knew of some colonial clubs but this one had eluded me. I'll more into it.

Thanks

I am new to this group here on eBay. My preferred organization when it comes to Numismatics is PCGS, I am a member there and find them very accurate on their grading  http://www.pcgs.com/

I am also a member of PMG for my Bank Notes they are at

http://www.pmgnotes.com/?utm_source=enews&utm_medium=enews&utm_campaign=ngc_enews_2_2013&spMailingID=5596783&spUserID=MzM0MTQ1NDA0MzYS1&spJobID=65948475&spReportId=NjU5NDg0NzUS1

I hope to be able to share knowledge with other Numismatists here and on other boards.

Nice to meet you all,

Jade
