Great find!

Hi...

We had a GREAT day last Friday Garage Saling!

My mom found 19 PM"s figurines for $2 and $1 EACH! We were sooo excited!

They are full size pieces except 2. The biggest being "He is the Star of the Morning".

Between us we only had 2 of the pieces already!

Then i went to a thrift store and found "Stand Beside Her" Statue of Liberty piece for $1.99!

Thanks for letting me share..:)

Greg :)

We were out today and found the "Isn't He Precious" figurine for $5. She had about 13 there and they were $5 for the singles and $10 for the doubles. I would have bought more but we had the others.

Another lady had the "Come Let us Adore Him" (boy at manger) NM for $25. I had that one already or else i would have swooped it up! I found mine at a flea market for $10.

I wondered into TJ Maxx this afternoon looking for work clothes. I found quite a few Precious Moments, without boxes, but the prices were great. Some fairly new ones.. However, my great find was the 2009 stocking doll for $7.99! It is always hit or miss at TJ Maxx. But it was very exciting. Good luck.

I found some figurines at TJ Maxx and at Marshalls the other day.  The prices are under $20.00.  I found a John Deere with the boy pulling a wagon with a pig in it.  So fun!

Just got home from an auction.  I scored God Loveth a Cheerful Giver for just $20, mint condition, no mark but no box.  Oh well for that price, they could keep the box! I thought I would never get that piece cause I could not justify the price on ebay for just that one.  I also got several more figurines for $5-10 ea, some with boxes, some without.

WOW! That sounds like the find of the century! Congratulations to you! Can't help but feel a little sad for the seller that their auctioneer did not know the value of what he was selling & failed to market it to get them a better sale amount.

I don't have a box for my Free Puppies either. Who cares? It's very special to have this piece. I bet you're still smiling!

I guess maybe I had better start going to yards sales and auctions!  Glad you were lucky to get a piece you thought you'd never have, that makes it even more special.

Gregg, I'm sure a lot of members think you have a lot of luck and serendipity in making a lot of unbelievable finds, but I am sure that it is the result of a lot of organizing, planning, research, and just plain ol' work!  Luck is great, but I think it comes more often to those that persistently look for it.  So, maybe you can divulge your system of how you find promising garage sales and always seem to know where the next auction is going to be.  How do you research and plan all this so effectively?  If you're worried that you might spill some secrets that will come back to haunt you, don't worry - this is a big country!

When I was in Seattle two weeks ago TJ Maxx at Northgate had quite a few figurines with boxes-well below retail. I also noticed a TJ Maxx here in Denver Area had figurines in their store as well. Some had boxes, some did not.  Since I don't frequent the store on a regular basis I don't know exactly what they get or when.  Good buys if it is something you want.

You guys have been coming up with wonderful finds!  WOW!  Keri, you hit the jackpot of the year so far.  I don't have a box for mine, either, and it seems so irrelevant.  I did see the original box only listed on eBay once and the box itself sold for $202 !!

Greg, wish I could have been at your Hallmark 50% off sale !!  All PMs at half price and a wall full to choose from.  Yikes !   I think I'm going to have to go to the TJ Maxx here and see what they have.  Until Kathy mentioned it once, I didn't know they carried any PM figurines.    Thanks to everyone for sharing and congratulations to all for the latest collection of great finds !!  :)

I know you didn't ask me but here is my 2 cents.  : )

When it comes to looking for great finds, I literally search every yard sale.  I yard sale Fridays & Saturdays(get the listings from our local papers), auctions whenever they come along & flea markets on Tuesday or Wednesday(not so busy, plus that is usually when the vendors are restocking after the weekend rush!).  I have got to know several local auctioneers & they let me know when something I am interested in comes along in one of their sales.  Get on a first name basis with your thrift store employees it really helps!  One yard sale that I went to that looked like trash & a lot of people were just driving by I scored an old AMT 1/25 scale model 64 Olds Cutlass Convert 3 n 1 F-85.  Bought it for a quarter & sold it for $76 here on ebay.  I'm always looking for something to make a quick buck on(so I can buy more Precious Moments! lol).

Found the Boy & Girl's Club treehouse figurine at an auction today for a whole dollar!  There was tons of figurines going CHEAP.  I got several pieces for $1 ea & too many more for $2-3 ea.  The most I paid was $6 ea for two that I REALLY wanted!

Good find in TJ Maxx in Joplin today, the 2008 Hawaiian retailer exclusive "Aloha" 890041 for only $14.99.  Also a flea market had 9 figurines new in the boxes for only $2 ea.
