This will only ever be a small group, considering how many sellers there are. If you guys want to get something done you will have to become a pressure group. The only way I can see is to do what the extreme left and right political groups did in Britain in the 1970's. which was to join the main parties and agitate for change from within. again, the only way I can see for you all to go forward is to buy a share each in ebay, become shareholders, attend meetings en-mass and cause trouble.
I just received my first negative feedback (that includes outright lies) from a buyer ever and I have been selling part time for 5 years (been an Ebay member 11 years). I have always attempted to work out any issues with people who sold to me and in most cases was successful. As a seller I have had 3 instances where the buyer was unhappy and in each case I offered full money back including return shipping costs-the buyer was always satisfied. The buyer in this instance has been buying old tapes, vinyl and CDs for pennies on the dollar and has, by review of the feedback he has left on other sales, pushed a few sellers to offer him partial refunds for what he considers unsatisfactory items without returning the goods. I refused to play his extortion game so now I have a negative feedback and no recourse to do the same for him. This stinks. I posted our email correspondence to Ebay requesting they review the feedback (I have accused this buyer of extortion which the emails indicate) but I do not hold out any hope. If Ebay does nothing about this incident, I will be gone from Ebay. I am a part time seller who has purchased more on Ebay than I have sold so they will no longer be collecting their exhorbitant fees from me anymore. I'm guessing Ebay is no longer interested in part time sellers so they do not care if we fall away. I wonder, however, what recentage of all purchases on Ebay are made by those of us are also small sellers? How can we get our voices heard or is it just a waste of time?
I am disgusted with Ebay. I am filing a formal on-line complaint with the Attorney general of California. It's easy to do. Just go to the state homepage, consumer complaints link, and print the form. Fill out and mail it to the address the State provides. I have been ripped off before and Ebay makes it difficult through their feedback policy to fight deceitful buyers. I'm selling somewhere else. Ebay is nasty to small sellers.
We need to do something fast. I got my first - and now I can not list any new items until my numbers come up to 4.3 I am not new to ebay but I am new to selling on ebay. I think the high # guys have an unfair advantage because they are being rated for 1 years worth of selling but I am being rated for 30 days worth of selling. Why can't they reset the counter every 30day this will give us all a fair chance?
